What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda, meaning knowledge, or science of life, is a 5000-year-old holistic approach to wellbeing.  In Ayurveda, disorders are understood as an imbalance of the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), a weakening of the digestive fire, and the accumulation of toxins in the body, all of which disrupt overall harmony. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on addressing the root cause by restoring balance, improving digestion, and detoxifying the body to enhance holistic wellbeing. Ayurveda aims not only to alleviate symptoms but also to bring the body back to balance and improve quality of life by managing root causes and achieving a sustained state of equilibrium.

Testimonials:

“I worked with Faye over the course of around 6 months and she supported me with my recovery from severe fatigue and migraines which arose in the aftermath of an infection. She took a detailed history and identified and reinforced the approaches I was already taking to help myself. She went on to identify the aspects of what I was doing which were counter productive, using the lens of Ayurvedic wisdom to help to identify and explain how some dietary and lifestyle habits might support others but due to my constitution might be counter productive for me. She created an individualised plan including dietary and lifestyle modification, herbs and spiritual practice and reviewed me at regular intervals, building the plan as my recovery evolved. All the while, Faye brought her own unique brand of bright, loving awareness, deep listening, intuitive insight, and a profound and genuine compassion. I found her support and suggestions nurturing, helpful and healing and I'm so happy that she is offering her gifts to the world”  - Simon
