PhysioPilates
1:1 PhysioPilates sessions are an ideal way for you to learn or progress your Pilates practice under the guidance of a qualified physiotherapist. These sessions can help you build strength, flexibility and overall fitness, and to manage and relieve issues including pain or muscle tension.
Physio-pilates sessions are ideal if you are new to Pilates, recovering from injuries or looking to prevent them, managing a long term condition (e.g low back pain) or simply want a more individualised fitness and rehabilitation programme.
Pilates is a form of exercise to stretch and strengthen your whole body. If practiced regularly it can to improve balance, muscle-strength, flexibility and posture. The focus is on controlled, stable, co-ordinated movements, with correct breathing methods, training your body to move well and more efficiently.
Pilates is suitable for people of all levels of fitness. It is a “low impact” more gentle form of exercise. It can be easily adapted to suit those with aches, pains, injuries and restricted mobility, as it does not place a lot of strain on the joints. Claire teaches "matwork" Pilates which can involve standing, seated and floor based exercises. Exercises can be adapted easily as you improve to suit your abilities, experience, goals and progress.
During your one to one session you will be asked some questions about your health, your lifestyle and what you would like to achieve from Pilates. Claire will then use this to plan a series of exercises for you, which can be adapted according to your progress, goals and preferences. You will be able to ask questions, gain advice and ensure your technique is spot on so that you can improve your health and achieve the results you want.
Please note your first session will act as a consultation, involving a questionnaire, a chat about your health and some simple exercise and posture tests, so that your health, posture and movement can be assessed. This will help Claire to plan your Pilates programme for future sessions.
